TUMANI is a non-profit, self-funding project based in Berak Elkhyam, one of the underprivileged quarters of Giza. It aims to reduce female school dropouts, by teaching schoolgirls handcrafts and selling their beautiful produce on their behalf. This enables the participants to finance their own education. TUMANI puts an emphasis on quality, punctuality, fair trade and highly encourages self-esteem and creativity among the TUMANI girls. TUMANI means hope.
Turath was established in 2009 with the aim of preserving Egyptian handicrafts and providing artisans with an outlet for their products. Over the years, the Company has worked with over 60 suppliers and as many as 250 families. We specialize in high quality products.
